Getting Ready for Autumn

Fall is coming - time for a new coat.

I'm Abby and I have a new coat and hat - ready for the cool autumn days and evenings. The hat matches and is very versatile.

Diane picked these green fabrics - I think they make a great coat and hat for autumn

I can wear the hat in different ways

If I wear the green coat and hat with my red dress and shoes I will be ready for a christmas party.

With this fancy hat I could go to London and have tea with the Queen

Or take a stroll in Paris

Wednesday Wee Ones - New Dresses

Hi - I'm Abby - I have a new dress with daisies and yellow ribbons - Diane picked this black/daisy fabric - perfect for pretty dresses.

I even have bloomers to match

I think this dress is perfect for a summer party.

And I am Sally Jo - sometimes we share each other's clothes - I do like this party dress

We take turns wearing our pretty party dresses, don't you think this red dress is beautiful -it is made from the same pattern as the black dress

And then we trade dresses - oops - we forgot to trade shoes

Hmmm - that isn't right either

There we go - perfect match

We'd like to have a tea party - would you please come with us?

Our new tea set is shiny and pretty

With pink roses on the cups, saucers and plates

We like our afternoon tea

Wednesday Wee Ones - Thanksgiving

It is nearing time for Thanksgiving, October 12 in Canada and November 26 in the U.S. so Sally Jo has decided to start some cooking early. She has found her perfect outfit and just couldn't wait to try it out.

Take a turkey, stuff it fat,

Some of this and some of that.

Get some turnips, peel them well.

Cook a big squash in its shell.

Now potatoes, big and white,

Mash till they are soft and light.

Cranberries, so tart and sweet,

With the turkey we must eat.

Pickles-yes-and then, oh my!

For a dessert a pumpkin pie,

Golden brown and spicy sweet.

What a fine Thanksgiving treat!

Her dress of a Flint Corn print and a subtle giraffe print is perfect for the holidays.

Add a basketweave apron and Sally Jo is ready to prepare a Thanksgiving feast

Oh of course, a neat little scarf to hold her hair back while cooking - it matches the skirt on her dress

So it is off to the garden to gather some fresh vegetables, and then to the market.

She'll use the potholders that match her outfit - just the thing for hot pans

Baking is a good way to start - hmmm, pumpkin bars sound good, don't they?
